Got the news this morning. I woke up and thought I heard Mom crying, so I went to check on her. My great uncle died about ten hours ago, in Nigeria, around noon GMT+1. The last time I saw him was several years ago, and I regret not having known him better, but I remember being so proud of him when he quit smoking. I didn't get a chance to tell him that though.
Here's to you, Uncle Roger. I'll never forget your smile and your kindness.
